Christer,
I would consider the woot I posted today a remote and an additional tuner for $45 shipped and no LIRC. :). Here is the thread going on right now about the PCTV HD Pro Stick on the MythTV Users Mailing List: http://www.gossamer-threads.com/lists/mythtv/users/334369
More Information about the PCTV HD Pro Stick and be found in this search: http://www.gossamer-threads.com/lists/engine?list=mythtv;do=search_results;search_forum=all;search_string=PCTV;search_type=AND&sb=post_time
This device may not work "plug and play" but what is the fun in this. There seems to be good help on getting this device going rather easily and of course I will have one soon and will be willing to provide any help I can.
If I was going to buy a remote & receiver combo I would pick one up from this page: http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/index.php/MCE_Remote and then mod the buttons to get rid of the "Windows" Logo.
After either of those options I would get (becuase I am cheap) a serial receiver from http://www.irblaster.info/receiver.html it is serial but should work fine with myth and LIRC .
Or you could look into getting a USB-UIRT box from http://www.usbuirt.com/order.htm

Ben
