[fwlug] Party for Vern's "completion" of the book

As most of you know, Vern has finished his work on a book about using python
in introductory programming course. He's been working long and hard and we
should celebrate his "completion" of the book (...aaahh the every useful
quotation mark!). So after talking to Vern and a couple others (including my
wife), the date for the party is Saturday, May 24th. We'll start things a
bit early, 4 o'clock, and go until whenever (probably 11 o'clock if people
have that much energy). I'll supply the basics for dinner (hamburgers,
brats, etc.). If everyone else could bring either a side, dessert or drink,
we should have enough of everything. Here's the summary:
