[fwlug] Getting Linux onto an old laptop

Cool. I used Slackware a few times back in the day (like when this
machine was pretty zippy). I'll run up a VM and see how it is after a
decade of development.

Unfortunately the project is on hold. Tore the case apart to see what
was clogging up the PCMCIA slots and found out the thing doesn't have a
battery in it! I thought it felt a few pounds too light...

Time to get into the wayback archive and see if I can find out what kind
of juice this thing wants and hack together a battery pack.
